Superb accommodation! Very well looked after. The resort has grown on us the longer we’ve been here. Lovely restaurants to walk to and the sea is so clear and gorgeous to swim in.

We have been to Greece several times before but this is the best accommodation that we have ever stayed in. We all enjoyed the beach and the sea is lovely and warm. The local restaurants are all very good and we received a pleasant welcome wherever we ate. The harbour restaurants and bars were great for us – plenty of people to both watch and chat to.

Very impressed with the villa and the location. Suggest you hire a car to explore the beautiful surroundings, it’s worth the effort! Sitia and Ierapetra (especially the promenade near the Venetian fort) are a good day out in themselves. No need to cook - good selection of local restaurants and an excellent bakery/ice cream parlour next to Motorplan. Our favourite restaurants were the first ones to the left of and right (and that’s not us just being lazy). The locals are great, friendly wherever you go. Love to come back!

Had a great time, villa is fantastic with enough room to suit each individual. It was wonderful to sit on each veranda to experience the different views – pool, mountains, sea and Makrigialos bay. Enjoyed the food, wine, shared laughter and conversations whilst we relaxed and chilled out.

Our first time in Crete and we have been stunned by the beauty and tranquillity of the scenery, the warmth of the people, as well as two weeks of fantastic sunshine. The house was brilliant. We are out constantly – good places were Porphyra (almost next door), the Diaskari beach taverna, to Limari & Mina’s place in town. The visit to Pefki (dancing and Cretan music) was unforgettable. We're counting the days until our next holiday in Makrigialos.

We have had a fantastic two weeks - thank you. Totally chilled and relaxed. We came with friends and didn’t stray far –the girls loved the pool and Diaskari beach where we went most days. Piperia Taverna in Pefki definitely worth a visit. We were made very welcome and the food was lovely. We are all very sad to be leaving this lovely place and hope to return soon. Very helpful and friendly.

We had a wonderful time staying at Grapevines. The villas are very comfortable, modern and clean, and the pool area is absolutely beautiful. The village is fantastic with everything you need (including the farmers' market for lovely fresh produce on Fridays), and it is a short drive to many lovely villages and beaches. We would love to come back to Makrigialos!

Booked with 3 other families, so was fab as children occupied, pool was great as was the beach. Gecko Bar definitely worth a visit by the beach (English lady runs it). Zorba’s good and so child friendly. Modern café on main road great cakes and coffee. Harbour lovely for lunch and coffee. Quad bikes kept kids busy in the evening, really friendly couple running it. Great holiday, lovely houses, fab weather, couldn’t have had a better time.

Beautiful complex in a beautiful area. Felt very much at home and relaxed. Our stay was as peaceful and refreshing as anyone could want. A host of beautiful beaches are to be found scattered along the coast in this region, coupled with numerous breathtaking mountainous landscapes. Highly recommend renting quad bikes as a way to get around, safe, interactive, great fun and you still catch the sun! Many thanks, a great week!
